Hi
For those of us in the Caribbean, we know that the summer months in Paradise comes with its fair share of threats in the form of the hurricane season. And when a hurricane watch or warning is established, it is understood that some schools, churches and other specific buildings which have been assigned as emergency shelters will try to be in a state of readiness for displaced persons. With the recent mudslide disaster in Sierra Leone, shelters would also have been commissioned on higher ground for those who survived the carnage of that natural disaster.
I suspect that for those of us who have survived physical or spiritual disasters are able to relate with today’s Holy Nougat™
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find REST in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalms 91:1 NLT
What a promise for those of us who have been displaced because of our faith. In our God there is Shelter from the storms which come our way. Our Shelter is sturdy, resilient, withstood the tests of time, reliable and enduring. And, while there are rules for residency, occupation therein comes with a lifetime guarantee. A promise for REST, especially if we’re willing to trust God.
Here are two very helpful acronyms to help us TRUST & REST:
Relax
Embrace
Seek sustenance as we
Trust God
That’s REST; but are we RESTING in God? And what about TRUST, are we open to
Taking
Refuge
Underneath God’s
Secret Place in
Times of Testing?
May our relationship with God be such that our first course of action is to abide and Rest during the storms of life.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
