Hello
I trust you are well. Recently, the Town of Newburgh made the news for unsanitary or unsafe water. So much so that residents have been encouraged to get their blood tests for measurable taxes of contaminants. Many of us have been drinking bottled water for a while, so it may not be as unhealthy as it has the potential to be. It creates an interesting backdrop for understanding Jesus as Living Water.
Just a little sip to whet our appetite for today’s Holy Nougat™
But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” John 4:14 NLT
Could it be that God uses Living Water as the metaphor to explain Jesus’ value to us so that we can relate. After all, most of us understand thirst. If that is so, then like the woman, I’m claiming some of the Life-giving source for myself.
Can you imagine having permanent access to water that quenches our innermost thirst?! And when we’ve had our thirst quenched, we can also offer others the opportunity to drink of the Living Water. That is so, because once we accept the Living Water, we also enjoy the overflow.
Time to drink up my dears.
Thanks for joining us in this Divine feast
In Christ
