Hello all
I was attending to my devotions yesterday (The Word for Today, Caribbean Edition), when I need the statement that our prayer life is a core indicator of the intimacy levels between us and God. I was reminded in my spirit that Adam was no longer present in the garden for conversations with God upon discovery of his nakedness.
How are things with your prayer life? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Colossians 4:2 NLT
What then does it mean to have an alert mind for prayer? Might I suggest that
A) We bring every thought under subjection to Christ during our prayers; so the distractions become points for prayer (2 Cor 10:5)
B) Current affairs within OUR context and the world stage become points of prayer/intercession
C) Our leaders, in the church, school, community, workplace and marketplace be part of our prayer coverage
D) Our hearts are attuned to the gentle nudges and whispering of the Holy Spirit; (this is perhaps even more critical than all the rest)
Having incorporated these intercessory points in our prayer life, we ought to see changes occurring round about us. This coupled with our regular prayers for self, friends and family; and then we’ll find it is way easier to also practice thankfulness and praise in our God-time.
On that note,
How might I pray WITH and FOR you today?
In Christ’s love and grace
