Hello my dears,
Trusting all is in purpose for you and yours. How did the praise session work in ridding you of the Monday blahs. Let’s keep the praise raising.
Today’s nougat June 16
Yet true godliness WITH contentment is itself great wealth. 1 Tim 6:6
It all began with the Jones’s. Everyone was content with their lot in life, until the Jones’s came to town. They were larger than life and lived in a lot that had a slightly larger acreage, so they installed a few external features which suited their needs.
Well the mayor of the town realised that as THE city’s most prominent citizen, the City Hall had to match/outdo the Jones’s. And the church had to stand out … and pretty soon, despite the fact that they neither needed not had the financial wherewithal, everyone tried to live like the Jones’s … or was it the Kardashian’s … or the Real Housewives … OR …. and pretty soon everyone was discontented with their lot in life. In fact, many had little time for God, as they were too busy on the hamster Wheel of Fortune to either notice or care.
Could that analogy be referencing us? Have we lost focus on what /(WHO) is most important? While contentment does not necessarily mean mediocrity, it DOES mean shifting our value system just a little bit more god-ward. Can we trust that God WILL supply ALL our needs, enough to put our trust in God’s provision? Can we trust in God’s will enough to be content in the little things just as well as the big things?
Not only do we praise away the blahs, but we allow contentment to obliterate doubt and fear.
Ready for adding thousands to our wealth? Let’s do it.
