Nougat 16

In today’s Holy Nougat, we return to the foundation of our Faith.

“Once you were alienated from God and hostile in your attitude by wicked deeds. But now He has reconciled you in Messiah’s physical body through death, in order to present you holy, spotless and blameless in His eyes—” Colossians‬ ‭1:21-22‬ ‭TLV‬‬

Very few persons enjoy being separated from others, in particular loved ones, over a prolonged period. I suspect that even our erstwhile introverts may be keen on seeing others after one of the stringent lockdowns over the past year. By virtue of our sin nature, any separation we can imagine between ourselves and others must be multiplied to the Nth power for ourselves and YHWH. And that chasm is insurmountable.

Reconciliation then, becomes a reality only when we accept the gift offered to each of us by Jesus Christ. An act which cost Him his life because He accepted that we are worth it and more. He did the more too – by vanquishing Death. So that we no longer have to endure condemnation and separation from God. We have covered that several times.

Such profound love demands a response from each of us. Aside from our acts of confession and repentance, might I propose that we

spend some time thanking Jesus for bridging the chasm.
