Have you ever lived under a microscope before? That is, lived with the knowledge that your life is under public scrutiny? We all do, in a sense. And that’s what today’s Holy Nougat explains
“And before him no creature is hidden, but all are naked and laid bare to the eyes of the one to whom we must render an account.” Hebrews 4:13 NRSV
Not covered nor hidden nor clothed – in God’s presence that is – our status is without any enhancement or subterfuge.
Nothing about how we are crafted is accidental. We are purposefully created for God’s purpose. Of course we recognize that our lives matter to God. And, with the mandate of Genesis 1:26-28, we are conscious that we are thus accountable to God in regard to the the mandate – general and specific – that we have been given. That’s why there’s nothing hidden from God.
So, knowing that our true selves are ‘laid bare’ before God; how do we feel? Is God well pleased with us? Where are there changes needed? How will the change be effected? (I feel like asking God to get the Divine Toolbox out, because it’s a long-term fix, and with spiritual wear and tear, I may need a Total Makeover – How about you?)
The Good News is; we can get coverage when things are a bit off. For God not only effected coverage for Adam and Eve; but as stated previously, God through Jesus Christ covers each of us. And for us believers, that’s a reality; not just a promise.
I believe we’re called to self evaluation; but under the supervision of God’s Spirit. May our lifestyle under God’s microscope be In God’s purpose today and always.
