Nougat 16

Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“bearing with one another and forgiving each other, if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord pardoned you, so also you must pardon others.” ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:13‬ ‭TLV‬‬

‬‬What a difference we would experience if this was everyone’s attitude. We would be releasing each other from bondages of hurt, allowing us to experience freedom in a different way. Unfortunately, there are some who would still be trying to abuse the process; using the command to forgive as an excuse to perpetrate all manner of evil.

But what if we truly believed that our confession would be positively received? If we discovered that we could actually be forgiven, not only by the person(s) we offended but from God also? Would we continue to sin, so that grace may abound, or are we allowing ourselves to recognize the pain we’ve inflected on the other?

I confess it seems utopian but isn’t Heaven the ultimate utopia – and the subject of all our actions. Thus we could also consider ensuring that our actions are less likely to offend. And then we also have to examine the forgiveness process – based on mutuality: what we expect to receive is what we give.

Having been given solution to the named problem, our task then is to avoid offending or allowing offenses to fester by giving God’s Spirit priority for our actions. I pray us all grace for the healing journey.
