Howdy siblings

It’s been a long and grueling week for some of us, please beat us up in prayer. It’s been a glorious week for some of us, please rejoice with us in prayer. How do these two prayer points work for us in these times? Consider Today’s Holy Nougat™️

“But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.” ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Spirit Power

Not by our night, not by our own strength, but by the power of God’s Spirit is not just a song. It is a promise from God Almighty in Zechariah 4:7. It was a comforting and encouraging word to Zechariah and Zerubbabel as they prepared to lead the remnant back to Jerusalem foot laying the foundation of the new temple.

Siblings, they weren’t even rebuilding the entire temple, but God saw fit to provide them with special coverage to complete their mission. What a God! That’s our God.

You come with sword and spear, but I come with the power of the Almighty God, said David to Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. He should have been daunted by Goliath’s size and intimidated by the taunts. But David remained focused on God and By God’s Spirit, prevailed. David wrote many psalms featuring his love for God and outlining how God’s Spirit moved.

When we get to Jude’s exhortation therefore, it is evident that God’s Spirit has already established a track record of success to those willing to trust God’s Spirit. Whether to encourage ourselves, to recognize the power of God’s presence, or to rejoice at what God has done, God’s Spirit continues to keep us. That’s definitely cause to rejoice.

As we move throughout this day and beyond, I pray that we will pray by God’s Spirit Who keeps us in God and bad times. Not only in tongues, the commonly expected way of praying in the Spirit; but also in our hearts. For it is the seat of grace in our lives, where God’s Spirit dwells within us and keeps us in continuous communication with God.

May all we seek be found in Christ
