Recently i was listening to a sermon which suggested that God will take our ‘Good’ away in order that we might have our ‘Best’. Has God seemed to take your Good away recently? Consider that as we reflect on today’s Holy Nougat
“I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.” Psalms 34:1 NLT
Declaring this while on the run is not easy. Especially when you were anointed as King by the local prophet, whose utterances (prior to this) were 100% accurate! Especially when having finally eased into kingship, your own son tries to overthrow your reign.
And yet David did
For David, blessing God with no visible proof of the crown being passed to him might not really have felt like good to better! But he did become king. God fulfilled God’s promise.
All time praise isn’t easy. And sometimes, praising God during prosperity is not so easy, as us humans are fickle.
We forget.
We ascribe credit to ourselves for our success
We are too busy establishing fiefdoms or pursuing happiness
We just don’t care
But God desires and inhabits our praise. In the good and bad times. In the good times as we appreciate the ways we are blessed. And in the bad times because praise guides us through the battle for our minds into God’s Secret Place.
So, after we confess our lack of gratitude for all gifts from God, let’s live our faith with a season of lifelong praise!

Today’s Holy Nougat insists that we respond with action; I hope you can participate
“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!” Philippians 4:4 NLT
And our response today, is to create a chain of Joy/Thanksgiving where we declare some of the reasons we are rejoicing in the Lord
I rejoice today because ….
