Nougat 15

Greetings all

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

One day Terah took his son Abram, his daughter-in-law Sarai (his son Abram’s wife), and his grandson Lot (his son Haran’s child) and moved away from Ur of the Chaldeans. He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there.

Genesis 11:31 NLT

So obviously Terah received God’s call also. And initially he heeds the call, but got sidetracked along the way. There’s a lesson there for us, no one outta the hands to the plow and stops while expecting God to recognize that as completed.

Perhaps more worrisome is the thought that in beginning a journey WITH and FOR God, there is no guarantee that we shall complete it. So it’s up to us to maintain the connection and entreat the Lord to remain with us and keep us going.

Terah’s journey/call was completed by his son Abram. But Terah is NOT listed in the Hebrews’ Hall of Faith. No siree! Beginning the task, beginning the journey is a first step in Faith, but God desires completion.

Have we received God’s call (to ministry, mission, more commitment)? What hinders our obedience and compliance? Will the Lord need to invite someone else to our task?

Selah

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
