Nougat 15

Hello

Earning or commanding another’s love is potent. For some, it’s the opportunity to manipulate and abuse the gift for their own benefit. For others, it’s the value-added element which moves them from despair and complacency to being their best selves. Or, in the iconic words of The Manhattans hit, “It feels so good to be loved by you”, being loved carries its own brand of feel good. There’s something about today’s Holy Nougat that takes me to a special place, reminding me of Who really matters.

“Never again will you be called “The Forsaken City” or “The Desolate Land.” Your new name will be “The City of God’s Delight” and “The Bride of God,” for the Lord delights in you and will claim you as his bride.” Isaiah 62:4 NLT

By no stretch of the imagination am I a city, but I have always understood muse as part of the New Jerusalem and as an inhabitant, whatever is promised to Jerusalem is mine also. Yes, the words were penned prophetically about Jerusalem; and is fairly subject specific (see verses 1 – 3); but within these words I always hear a Now utterance from God to me; Nicole Ashwood. That I am not alone or forsaken – such a comfort when the road seems lonely – and that I am God’s beloved!

Can you imagine – despite all our mess, our doubts, our disobedience, our God Chooses to delight in us, and claims us as bride? That’s so life altering for many; yet we have either ignored this reality or kept it to ourselves.

Now here’s the challenge. As we praise God for the love that moves us from forsakeness to a delightful and blushing bride of God; let’s ensure that we share this message of love with One person who needs to know that they are beloved.

My dear, if you are one such person; God loves you dearly, and so do I. Good morning

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
