Nougat 14

Hello my dears

Yesterday, rather last night, I tried calling one of my friends; no response. Then I remembered that it was Date Night: special time with the spouse. The concept isn’t new to me, several of my married friends set aside time for each other.

It got me thinking, what if I were to have a “Date Night” with God? Hmm. Oooh the possibilities.

Here’s your Holy Nougat™ for today

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: When shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 42:2

The fact is, God is available and on duty at all times. So, is up to us to set up the date.

Let’s think about it. What does a regular date constitute? Music, ambience, flowers, quality time, conversation probably dancing, a meal? While it wouldn’t look exactly the same, our Personal Quiet Time could reflect a date with God, or perhaps a fast that’s intended for intensifying the relationship with Jesus.

Music … Praise songs or hymns

Ambience … A quiet space without interruption

Flowers … A broken contrite spirit/candles

Quality time … Time for God, not others

Dancing … Some choice hallelujahs and movement

Meal … The Word of God and prayer

Let’s try that once a week and see what happens. I’ll try it too.

Every blessing

In Christ.
