Nougat 14

Hi

In Jamaica we have a saying, “give a basket to carry water” i.e., a Herculean task. Sometimes, when we truly catch sight of what God has lined up for us, we wonder … But

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

“Do not be afraid of them,” the Lord said to Joshua, “for I have given you victory over them. Not a single one of them will be able to stand up to you.” Joshua 10:8 NLT

But; What about when God gives us the outcome? When we are assured that despite the natural odds, the battle is already won, and we’re among the victors? What if God comes directly into our story to affirm us, confirm that we’ve been hand-picked for the job, and has placed favour on our side?

What if we discover that although Moses was the awesome leader, the real fact of the matter is that this aspect of the job required skill sets that only Joshua had mastered? For, though a shepherd-prince, and a prefiguring of Christ; Moses was not a warrior at heart. But, Joshua was.

Only a true warrior could have discerned the relevant strategy to get into the Promised Land and find the real target without getting hurt or losing hope. Only a true warrior could have seen one fearsome man while alone, and demand, “Are you for us or against us”, seriously ready to do battle regardless. Only a true warrior understands God as the Lord Mighty in battle, YHWH Sabaoth (transliterated Lord of Hosts/Armies). But, like Moses, Joshua only went to battle if the Lord was his commanding officer. Yup. Truly.

You see, God’s recruitment strategy DOES NOT look like ours. God sees way deep and knows what we’re truly capable of. Especially with Christ in our lives. Intimately. Actively. And God already knows which battles are ours to tackle. God is not overwhelmed by natural odds or by who preceded us. And God has already determined the outcome of the war and the battle.

So what now?

Time to trust in the name of the Lord our God.

Time to discern God’s plan for us in our position, rather than trying to be a copycat.

Time to listen to God, rather than the naysayers all around.

Time to gird up ourselves to do battle, putting on the WHOLE Armour of God.

Time to coat our armor with prayers in the Spirit

Time to take enemy territory by force

Time to do what God commands, even if it looks/sounds a bit unnatural

Time to accept God as Commanding Officer

Time to step out in Faith

Time to walk boldly into what only you have been fashioned by God to do

… It’s Time

Do enjoy God’s rich provision.

Thanks for joining us.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
