Hello my dear
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, a conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 ASV
Assurance; that is, confidence. But assurance can also be viewed as down payment. That being said, we hear that faith is a down payment on what we dream about. So many of us undergo years of studies in the conference of the studies qualifying is for a specific career. We don’t necessarily think about what we did with our studies as faith; instead we see it as an investment.
But, if for a moment we consider such ‘investments’ acts of faith – the assurance for our bright future; where are some of the places we have invested our faith. Have we made contingency plans if it doesn’t work out as planned? Usually not unless we have had the benefit of failure.
We buy insurance policies as precautionary measures, we invest in our professional futures, we make provision for housing and transportation in faith. And that is well and good. Having revisited where we have faithed our future, what plans have we put in place for our spiritual future?
Many of us argue that it’s hard to trust what we cannot ‘see’, but we made those other faith steps on the unknown and unseen. In fact we assume that things will work out, calling on God only if it doesn’t. What if we were to take that mind blowing step into the unknown and invest in what God has promised?
Let’s prayerfully ponder what we need to confidently invest in for our spiritual future. Lord, we believe; please please help our unbelief!
