Feeling far from God, consider today’s Holy Nougat
“And he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yet afar off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.” Luke 15:20 ASV
Can you just imagine – there’s the young man, with no expectations of forgiveness from his father; and a father pining after his lost son? What a combination! Perhaps the son was a mite nervous considering the punishment applicable to the crime. Or he might have been practicing his speech and only worried about the reception from his father
I wonder how the mother felt upon seeing her boy traverse the road; broke and broken. Or maybe she genuinely determined that her son was okay and sent the dad to meet him. We do know is that the father saw him and ran to greet him!
That’s Redemption
And it’s exactly what we experience DAILY from God. We mess up time and time again; and yet; God meets us each time without a murmur. Whether we seek forgiveness or not!
So where does that leave us? Free to seek the embrace of a loving God who rescues us from our sins; rejoices and then restores us to to the family.
Can we then seek forgiveness within God’s plans for us?
