Nougat 14

Published on

Hi

Have you ever tried to fathom how Jesus knew all He knew or determined what to do? Consider today’s Holy Nougat and marvel at the wonder of our God.

“So the two disciples went into the city and found everything just as Jesus had said, and they prepared the Passover meal there.” Mark 14:16 NLT

It shouldn’t surprise us at all. Nor them. And perhaps it doesn’t and didn’t. Yet, if we truly think about it, how could Jesus have known the entire details of the plans like that? Had He slipped away in the night and made arrangements – but then, sometimes plans go awry. Was He experiencing an open vision like some pastors claim to these days? And if so, what does that mean for us?

It wasn’t the only time He’d done something like this; remember the fish with the coin (Matthew 17:24-27). Ironically, in both cases, His miraculous actions in both instances seemed to have benefited Him and the disciples rather than others – ie the wider public. It is my presumption that Jesus wishes us to realize that in pouring ourselves out for others; God CAN & WILL fill us up. When we are at our natural limit, God has already made plans for us.

Thus the attention to detail is not about the ‘open vision’; but rather affirming the attention God places to the finest details of our lives. Fish for food with coin for the bills; room and provision for the lavish meal. Loss to emphasize that our blessing lay not in others but in God alone. My my my! What a god, our God!

Today, I invite us to look for God’s precision in the details of our lives.

Good morning

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
