Hi
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with glad cries of deliverance. Selah”
Psalms 32:7 NRSV
We often fall to appreciate the fullness of this text until we encounter realities which send us scurrying for cover. Can you remember one such experience?
There are folks for whom this is a daily reality. Those recovering from the impact of hurricanes, typhoons or other natural disasters can recount several such incidents. Others living the nightmare of internal; external or domestic conflict may have more pressing need for places of refuge.
When faced with those kinds of challenges, the likelihood of seeking God’s offer of protection is not always high. Yet, in those cases it is the time we MOST need God’s deliverance. The protective safety of being in God’s presence.
The song which is birthed from our experiences provides the foundation for helping others to sing. (Un/)Fortunately, our experiences of Refuge seeking may be the buffer for helping others overcome. Can we identify persons who might need directions to our Refuge? And are we willing to be vulnerable enough to share our song with others?
May we find in God’s presence the deliverance we need; and the strength to help others overcome.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
