Nougat 13

The devil is a liar!

Greetings my dears.

Yesterday’s Nougat was late for everyone except those on Gmail, who never seemed to have received it. It was written and sent from close to midnight; but, thanks to internet challenges, did not actually get delivered until way later. My apologies. For those who missed it and require a copy, please inbox me. (Ironically, the Nougats are written from Gmail and copied to Facebook and WhatsApp. Go figure)

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you — Joshua 1:3 NLT

Moses. The intrepid leader. God’s specially selected one. He who met God at the mysteriously Burning Bush. He who struck the rock for water and parted the seas in the name of YHWH. The One whom legends and Midrash’s would be created about.

Joshua. Still wet behind the ears, though courageous in “follow-ship”. One of the Two who believed God’s promise and saw great things in the land of the Promise. Moses’ successor. Appointed by God through Moses.

It must have been a very daunting day when Joshua accepted Moses’ death on the mountain and assumed the mantle of leadership. But, before his knees could even begin to falter at the task set before him; God showed up.

Truly. But God.

Not in a Burning Bush.

But definitely with a promise. “I AM with you EXACTLY as I was with your mentor-predecessor Moses. What I promised him is now yours to fulfill.

First, step out in Faith. Just like you did when we scouted this Land together. Step out in Faith, and everywhere you go in My Name is yours. Just step out in Faith.

Jesus. The Exalted One. Messiah. Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Son of God. Rabbi. The Prince of Peace. Living Water. Bread of Heaven … Our brother who has gone to prepare a place.

We cannot ever replace him or match him in awesomeness.

But God once again has promised. “I AM with you, EXACTLY as I’ve been with Jesus’s Disciples. What He promised you, I seek to fulfill in you. Seek my promises and learn them.

First step out in Faith. Just like you did when you first gave your life to me. Step out in Faith and everywhere you go, I AM with you. Everything you do in My Name is blessed. Just seek my promises and know them. First step out in Faith.”

Selah

May God’s grace add savor and flavor to our digestion of this feast.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
