Nougat 13

Hello

Greetings to you. Some of us have been caught in the snares of debt before. And it may have been quite painful, distressing and worrisome. For most of us, it has not resulted in debtors’ prison in a literal sense.

For those of us who have been bound by debt in the past, can we think of our reaction on discovering that instead of having interest added; someone cleared the entire bill? Consider today’s Holy Nougat

“But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah‬ ‭43:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

My Word! God our Creator does not see us as production line materials, crafted and sold to the highest bidder. Although we are manufactured, our purpose is to bring joy to our Maker, and so our Maker desires the best for us. That includes giving us enough autonomy to be; and to make choices. Some of our choices are excellent, beneficial to us and even to others. Then we make some decisions or take some action that place others in stress-laden situations. But some other decisions land us in trouble.

Even in debt.

And the creditors are not always as visible to us as we think. For the trouble we find ourselves may only have us bound to an addiction (including social media trolling), or direct us away from pleasing God. And we don’t always see that coming. So it’s not necessarily willful.

But there is Hope

Our Creator is open to pulling us out of debt, to deliver us from evil and our own sinful selves; to get us out of whatever keeps us bound or addicted. And the methods are as varied as they are unique to each of us. For just we are each one of us different; so is God’s rescue plan tailored – through Jesus and the Spirit of God – to our individual needs.

So right now, our bank accounts, our relationships, even the balance sheet of our lives may be overwhelming. And we may see no way forward. What we can count on, is God’s guarantee that we are precious and worth saving. We matter to God. And God calls us by name.

Yes we do!

I feel some burdens shifting already!

Hallelujah

God bless you
