Nougat 13

Even before the fact of the Crucifixion, Jesus was already helping His disciples understand that they, and by virtue thereof we, are a sent people. And, as God’s Sent people, we are answerable to God. So what we embark on as believers is for God’s glory. With that, consider today’s Holy Nougat

“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.”Luke 10:19 NLT.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”” Acts of the Apostles 1:8 NLT

We note that with God’s Spirit at work in our lives (and with us), there’s power. Not just dunamis ie dynamic power; but we also have been granted permission to do and be on God’s behalf. Yes. As sent people, we are God’s emissaries and what we do reflects God and God’s characteristics. And our major aim is to reflect God’s plans for the world to return home. The thing is, we also were lost; so we should be credible to those who don’t know the way back.

As authorized agents, we receive our dossier from God’s Spirit. As emissaries, we receive special gifts for improved functionality. That’s what we refer to as the manifestation of God’s Spirit (or spiritual gifts). Yet that is what so many people shy away from. The thing is, when we fail to use the gifts there are unscrupulous others waiting. And their to block the return of others to God’s kingdom (and kin-don) with fake credentials; including fake gifts. Each time we choose to not use our gifts, the charlatans have greater chances of success.

So here it is – the crossroads of Decision:

• Do we walk go forth confidently doing/being in God’s authority

or

• Do we maintain a semblance of God’s authority while acting as tho we have no power (see 2 Timothy 3:5-7)?

Let’s consider what the power manifests as in the days hence.
