Hello
Have we stopped to consider how our decisions impact others?
Here’s today’s nougat
Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you. Genesis 12.13
Can you imagine, Abram did not stop to considerwhether his half-sister would be scarred from that encounter! In fact, he removed the protection of their intimacy as husband and wife to secure HIS personal wellbeing. There was no doubt about Sarai’s future if she complied. Yet, Abram was a God-fearing man.
Before we join in Abram’s crucifixion, let us turn the spotlight inwards. Are we sometimes guilty of trying to rig (consciously plan with a specific outcome) life’s turns in our favour, without consulting God? Have we placed someone else at risk for the sake of protecting our selves, despite being Christians? If yes, would we wish others to respond unfavourably as we perhaps did with Abram?
As we negotiate or journey throughout this week, I pay that we will count the cost and consider the impact of our decisions on others.
Have a blessed day.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
