God’s love for us is undeniable. We see the evidence all around us. In nature, in our waking moments, and in the fact that we are. What is mind1boggling is realizing that when we love God in return, there are even more blessings. Check out today’s Holy Nougat

“Because you love me, I will rescue you. I will protect you because you know my name.” Psalms‬ ‭91:14‬ ‭GW‬‬

There is a saying in Jamaica, ‘pastor christens his children first’, which suggests that we tend to prioritize our own interests before tackling others. We have this blessed assurance that in addition to the provision allotted to us as God’s beloved Creation, we can access God’s protection just by calling out to God.

Now I realize that this is presented as a conditional promise. This level of protection comes when we love God. When we call on God’s name. This is worth remembering as the Church is referred to as the Bride of Christ. And during the exile, God’s restoration promise was to God’s chosen remnant, ‘Beulah’ … God’s Bride. This is significant as it indicates that as the Bridegroom, God is looking out for our safety – human bridegrooms take note.

Moreover, the reciprocal nature of God’s love is also manifested by God’s willingness to rescue us from our spaces of distress. Having seen God’s everlasting Love demonstrated through Hosea’s devotion to Gomer, and with the parable of the 99 sheep; we know God will come through for our own situations; great or small.

So we praise God, filled with the blessed assurance that with God on our side, we are never alone. We are more than conquerors.

Dear Lord. This is me (insert your name), Your beloved. Thanks for intervening each and every time I call. Thanks for rescuing me, sometimes with a No to my prayer, or by plucking me out of reach of the enemy. I bless and honor You oh Lord. Teach me to love You more, in Jesus name, amen
