Greetings one and all

Yesterday was a strange day. I misquoted the reference for Galatians 5:22-23, and cited Philippians 4 instead, AND despite all that forgot to share with the WhatsApp mailing list (though it was posted to the group – even when I posted the correct reference). My apologies to you all.

“God has done all this. He has restored our relationship with him through Christ, and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:18‬ ‭GW‬‬

God, Who is the totality of all things that have been created, is Perfection; the ultimate in Goodness, Creativity and Purity. And we each have the capacity to be replicas of God’s Goodness, Creativity and Purity. (Just like those mini-me children some of us are blessed with). The irony is, with the gift of choice, we often choose to forget that we are created to be God’s mini-mes. That unfortunately, is the nature of sin. Moreover, sin is so insidious that although Children of God, sin places a serious wedge between us and God. For God does not live WITH sin, God lives outside of sin.

As sin tears at our Goodness, Creativity and Purity; we may also find ourselves distanced from our Purpose.

But God made us all a Way Back.

Jesus Christ

In his arguments to the Roman Church, Paul writes that although sin became a normal aspect of our lives because of the Fall; we received the opportunity to be restored through Jesus Christ! (See Romans 5). Because the relationship between us and our original Creator and Parent was destroyed by human choice; the restoration ALSO demanded the choice from a human. But … the human also had to exist in a state of pre-Fall perfection. Unfortunately, that no longer naturally exists among us. But God solved that through Jesus. Our restoration therefore is in Him, not the person who told us about Jesus.

Having experienced this sweet restorative process that brings us back to our original nature, we may (ought to) feel inclined to share our experience. We are each involved in living our transformation which then invites others to not only ‘Come See’; but also to ‘Come Be’!

And that is the Ministry of Restoration to which we are ALL called, regardless of our other gifts. So when and where we see brokenness around; let’s not despair. May we choose instead, by God’s Grace to share the Good News of reconciliation with God in Christ Jesus.
