Nougat 12

Quite often when we are faced with insurmountable odds; our default response is to give up or fall into depression. But there’s another way. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand and say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid; I will help you.’” Isaiah‬ ‭41:13‬ ‭GW‬‬

Amidst all that life metes out, we have the assurance of God’s presence and favor.

When we bear in mind that one’s right hand is favored as the one strength, it seems in order that God’s great support for us is also referenced that way. If we think of all the many things that we accomplish using our ‘dominant hand’ we readily conclude that gaining support is most welcome.

What we also note is that God upholds us, God does not do for us. It’s a collaboration not a takeover. God provides what we need to accomplish our task and guides our progress for the process as we continue our relationship. We have the assurance that we are not alone in all we set out to accomplish – not a bad sensation for some of what is set before us.

That sense that God is with us should banish all the fear – False Expectations Appearing Real – since we know that God does not fight to lose. With God in the vessel that storm is but a drizzle. One songwriter suggested some years ago

Hold Thou my hand so weak I am and helpless I dare not take one step without thy aid. Hold Thou my hand for then O Loving Savior no dread of I’ll shall make my soul afraid. What a great assurance for our spirits! Perhaps we might need to make the request today.
