Nougat 12

Burdened and needing direction? Feeling like we’ve lost our way? Please consider today’s Holy Nougat

“Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Yesterday we noted that Jesus has loads of experience, and cited that it qualifies Him to be the One with whom we’re yoked. You might also recall the reference made to a ‘lead’ ox, who would guide the team’s movements. We might also bear in mind that two strong wills don’t easily qualify for being yoked together. So if we take Jesus up on the offer, then we will need to yield.

When we look at the secular world; the expert in any given field is often consulted for their insights. And, if they choose to mentor anyone – it could become very pricey. Naturally, one automatically gets bragging rights, having been affiliated with them. According to our Nougat, in accepting to be yoked with Jesus, we are mentored (ie discipled) by Him. It means we can have bragging rights!

In accepting Jesus’ offer; others will notice the change; affording us the opportunity for bragging about our Coach and Mentor. And because Jesus knows us inside out; we are guaranteed that His coaching is tailored to our every need. For He’s got plans for our future; even when we find ourselves exiled from support system or held captive by unhealthy yokes (Jeremiah 29:11).

Burdened and needing direction – get yoked with Jesus; He will lead the way!
