Nougat 12

Today’s Holy Nougat led me to prayer. I share it with you in the prayer that you are led to pray your own version of what I prayed. Or, better yet, you might be led to invite the Light of the world to Shine within.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness doesn’t extinguish the light.” ‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭CEB‬‬

Shine In

When I read ‘and the Light shines in the darkness…’ somehow Lord, I couldn’t help but think about whatever darkness there is in my life.

So today dear Jesus, wherever there is darkness and shadows still wrestling for control of my life, please Please PLEASE Dear Jesus pour Your Light in. I give the doubt, fear, fatigue, selfish actions and desires, unforgiving ways, anger, slander disguised as ‘venting’, jealousy, pettiness, judgemental nature, and all the other bits and bobs lurking in my head and heart.

Put in writing like that sounds monstrous, and I’m tempted to erase a few to look nice, especially if I do decide to share it. Yet, ironically, I know that among the bits and bobs are other insecurities and actions that I don’t even want to face.

But especially those dear Jesus, need to see the Light of You! Shine in every single negative please Jesus . Shine in every nook and cranny of my heart, mind and spirit. Shine in the things that others say ‘a so she stay.’ Shine in the named, known spaces, and with Your Love, shine under the cellar doors – You have Total Access!

I invite You in for real. Confirm Your light with an inner glow that I can feel. Shine in the brokenness and dis-ease. Shine in the diseased, cancerous and diabetic spaces long misused and in desperate need of Your healing grace. Shine in the empty lost spaces, so they’re filled with Your marvelous Light.

Shine IN all the Darkness, for Darkness is overcome by Your Light. This day, Tomorrow and Forever, please Jesus shine within me.
