Nougat 12

Hello

How are you? Death has been the highlight of international news for some time now – whether in recounting of violent rampages, accidents, suicides, drug use or natural disasters. Today’s Holy Nougat invites us to consider Death somewhat differently.

He will swallow up death forever! The Sovereign LORD will wipe away all tears. He will remove forever all insults and mockery against his land and people. The LORD has spoken. Isaiah 25:2 NLT

In Corinthians, we are advised that Death is the final enemy, and even Death will be conquered. Meanwhile, we live in the dispensation where death is still a ravaging for, with whom many of us are contending for loved ones or persons of interest.

The miserable thing is, Death hardly travels alone. It has envoys which precede it; sickness, drug use, mental instability, disaster or violence. And somehow, because of its natural finality, Deat truly seems to have the last word.

But it doesn’t

Today’s Nougat assures us that Death is swallowed up FOREVER by our Sovereign Lord in the future. The Gospels indicate that Jesus overthrew Death once before, when He rose and appeared to several persons, just like He promised. And, if we believe His promises are true, then that’s ONE certain assurance to which we should hold firm.

So what do we do now?

We defy Death by living Life to the fullest in the power invested in us through Jesus Christ. We cherish our friendships and family (blood or spiritual) and honor relationships as best we can. We remind ourselves that while Death seems so finite, there where Christ is, Paradise awaits. And the joy is, we have a longstanding invitation to join Him there when Death is conquered.

So we mourn our loved ones present separation from us; but rest assured that truly DEATH is not the Final Word; God is. Yesterday, Today, Always!

Take heart and God bless you

In Christ’s love and grace
