Hello there

Yesterday I referenced the unrestricted praise practised by our African sisters and brothers in worship. Might today’s Holy Nougat serve to engage us more?

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 NLT

Within the longer Corinthian text, the Pauline writer argues about freedom of food choice. In considering the Jewish laws which had been softened for the Gentile converts, it becomes apparent that denying one’s identity is not quite the same as taking up the Cross daily. Rather, one hears a gentle whisper inviting our praise to reflect God’s glory at all times.

So what would that look like, one might wonder. I suspect that it might include us becoming our authentically anointed selves, restricted solely by God’s dictum for our lives. This then invites a migration from undue preoccupation about what the public thinks; to a burning desire to honour God in all we do.

Then and only then might we find ourselves doing and living all for God’s glory. (And who knows, others might be drawn to Christ by our God-centred witness)

Shalom and salaam

In Christ’s lopractised ve and grace . . .
