Nougat 12

Published on

Greetings my dears

I received this yesterday from a friend who is also on the Holy Nougat mailing group.

Please peruse and consider in this season

Shalom! Today begins the first day of Passover. Many believe that the last supper was the Passover supper; It was NOT! Today is a special day, recognizing that Christ was the ultimate Passover lamb sacrificed for us all. He died on that tree on Wednesday and was taken off before night fall when Shabbat would begin. There were 2 Shabbats on that week as it is now. He rose after sunset on Sabbath and was seen early on Sunday morning. That makes 3 nights in the tomb as it was in the scriptures. As Jonah was 3 night in the belly of the whale.

This is a special time. Please use it as a teaching time for your audience.

Now that is some serious food for thought.

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

After telling everyone good-bye, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Mark 6:46 NLT

Have you ever craved a deeper connection with God? So much so that you would move away from the hustle and bustle?

And when (/if) that happens, where do you go? The psalmist suggests a retreat to the hills (Psalm 121), for it was believed that high places made for a better connection to the divine presence (hence the pyramids in Egypt and reference to high places in the Bible). Jesus once suggested one’s closet. Whatever the location, it would do us all to reflect on that special sacrifice made for us so that we might once again be connected with God’s presence. And of the access to God which Christ’s death and resurrection affords us.

Let us invite the Holy Spirit to minister to our spirits as we ponder the ramifications of Passovers past and present …

Lord in your mercy,

Thanks for joining in this Divine feast.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
