Hello
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”” Zephaniah 3:17 NLT
Usually when we speak of being saved; we refer to being rescued FROM a harrowing experience TO one which is life giving or life affirming. The extent of the rescue varies from person to person and by situation; but ultimately it is only the one who has been rescued and the one who effected the rescue can truly attest to its real value. Let’s think about responses to Jesus; the epitome of God’s good salvation.
For the woman who was bleeding incessantly; the one who anointed Jesus’ feet; the Sychar woman (at the well); though they were all grateful, they each perceived the salvation differently. Likewise, Bartimaeus, Zacchaeus, and Saul of Tarsus.
Yet, there were responses to salvation that leave us wondering. Judas is one such. Also some detractors when Jesus chose to be in relationship with persons we deemed unworthy. And of course, there’s you and me. For our responses to Our Loving Saviour may have been questionable at times.
Is it any wonder when we find limited/no appreciation for simple acts we do for others! Is it even more awesome that instead of writing us off; Jesus offered forgiveness! Yet another rescue by our great and marvelous God.
How might we respond to God’s salvific works today?
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
