Hello
How was yesterday? Great, I hope. We continue our conversation with today’s Holy Nougat
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.” Deuteronomy 6:4-5 NRSV
The Shema is preambles by a statement which explains its value to the nascent peculiar (Jewish) people. There are directions which advised them of it’s centrality to their faith. They were charged with repeating it and passing it on through the generations. For, it is a statement of faith and perhaps as profound as Moses’s meeting at the back of the mountain.
What did you hear yesterday when repeating the Shema?
I heard God’s self disclosure to me! Hear oh Nicole – the Lord … God desires to speak with each of us! Individually and collectively! Listen up – God’s got something to say. Are we paying attention at all?
How did that impact you?
Just think – the God of the universe, the One Who speaks and it is so – YHWH Adonai desires our attention, claims us as worshippers AND wants to be the only God in our lives! Wow
And ultimately God’s desired response is passionate devotion. That we respond to a Love so pure and profound by loving God with our entire being. What would that; rather, what DOES that look like?
Does it look like the way we currently live our worship – total surrender; unbridled praise? If not, is it time for us to establish some increased intimacy with God – to fall in love with God all over again?
Love songs – the psalms await
Venue – anywhere: aloud or in our hearts
Time – always; but let’s go with NOW
We begin there; with no strings attached and see what happens to our spiritual ‘Love-life’.
Heart. Soul. Might. Our entire being in Love with God!
Awesomeness
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
