Here’s today’s Holy Nougat ™
Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe? Mark 5:30 NLT
In the bustle of the crowd, Jesus feels the difference on his person. Bearing in mind what happened next we realise that Jesus could easily have ignored the touch and allowed the woman’s healing to pass unnoticed by the crowd. But that would have left us without one all-important fact:
When we reach out to God, there is nothing which can prevent God from hearing our cry. The answer might not manifest in the way we’d prefer; but God’s bottom line remains in our best interest.
Soooooo, think back to one of those times when you reached out and only connected with the healing hem of Jesus’ robe? How desperate were you for breakthrough? And Jesus turned up right ON TIME. My my my! What an amazing God.
Now let’s fast-forward to the present. How desperate are you for the breakthrough? Remember that the breakthrough came with her touch in FAITH before Jesus began trolling the crowd, not after he found her. Furthermore, we remember that she seems to have blended comfortably in the crowd, so the healing must have been fairly complete (and if not read the story for yourself in all the gospels – Matthew 9:20-22; Mark 5:25-34; Luke 8:43-48). Therefore, we know that God’s got a comprehensive plan with individual names attached, so our personal situation is not outside of God’s abilities.
If you’ve already touched Christ’s garment, no problem, no fear or hesitation, just walk in the knowledge that God’s got you covered. And, until the breakthrough comes let’s continue to praise.
