For the next few days we will reflect on our awesome God as depicted by today’s Holy Nougat
“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”” Zephaniah 3:17 NLT
Sometimes I truly am bowled over by the simple profundity of this fact. Our Lord, Our God, the Holy One, The Almighty YHWH Adonai lives among us. I would hasten to add; lives within us! Permit me a moment of selfishness – God loves ME; is passionate about me. And I have my own set of personal facts to prove it; well actually to remind me.
If you reflect on the events of the past week, you might also find your own list of blessings to prove that to you also. Beginning with the simple things – waking up, being mobile, online, of sound mind (or relatively coherent enough to appreciate what’s being revealed to us), alive (despite aches, pains, diseased, dis-eased, hospitalized, yet present) … that’s a load of blessings right there.
Now let’s also remember the near misses and accidentally awesome moments. You know – those almost disaster, But moments. And how they got transformed by God among us. Let’s not forget about when God sure ‘nuff showed up in our midst. The planned, unexpected, adorable, astounding.
Truly God is among us; even in impossible circumstances and times. Even when lonely and distressed. Even when overwhelmingly happy. Even in our excitement.
This week, I urge us to look for God’s presence among us in unexpected moments. When we do; give God a shout out and feel free to testify of the blessings to even one other person.
