Hello
September 11 2001 changed the world significantly; especially in relation to travel and rules of war. The American military machinery, and by extension the world, shifted their strategy thereafter. The head of the military and the Commander in Chief must have had several conversations on the way forward. Today’s Holy Nougat offers a slightly different approach as it turns the focus to our own battle against weapons of spiritual destruction.
Are we ready for this?
“Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord?” Exodus 4:11 NLT
Ultimately, it points back to God. And while I contend that God is not capricious; my understanding of God’s wisdom and power makes room for permissive will – even for the rough patches.
I cannot fathom God’s ‘Why’ and would NOT SEEK to speak for God. Not for God’s yeah. Not for God’s nay. Not for God’s wait. Definitely not for God’s silence. But I dare to suggest that sometimes it seems like it is a matter of faith.
Will I believe God AFTER the Brokenness?
Do I trust God’s Word, God’s promises; after the first REAL no?
What does faith in the ‘Omnipresent’, ‘Omniscient’, ‘Omnipotent’ God look like after an emotional Cat 5?
Having answered those questions; I’m left with one final question –
Do I trust God enough to obey?
It took Forty Years and a lot of convincing to sway Moses. He became one of God’s most celebrated military veterans and tacticians? Some call him a prophet. And he was. Because Spiritual Gifts ARE part and parcel of the weapons with which God has blessed us that counter spiritual destruction.
Hear God asking each of us the same questions God asked Moses. Yes, today, on this September 11.
How do we answer?
Are we ready for the battle?
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
