“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.” John 14:16 NLT

How long does God’s Never last?

Forever

So when God says Never; we can read Not even once in Forever. And that’s the same timing Jesus uses. So whether we believe in the work and witness of the Spirit of God; as believers, we already have God’s Spirit living inside us. For All Time

I also noted that in this version, we are told that it is Another Advocate that is promised to the disciples. For if there’s ‘another’, then there was at least one prior. And that person is Jesus. As stated recently, Jesus’ actions throughout His life, death and resurrection attest to His dedication to our holistic wellbeing.

The new Advocate, by extension, would fulfill similar functions – guidance, defense direction and all round support – in multiple persons at a time. In fact; God’s Spirit dwells in EACH of us – it’s a matter of us maximizing the gift.

We are about to embark on a journey: of learning more about God’s Spirit. For I suspect that we have not always been as intentional in allowing God’s Spirit full access to our transformation. And with the Spirit being our constant spiritual companion; understanding God’s Spirit is critical.

I pray us wisdom and discernment in the ensuing days.
