Hang in there folks, we are halfway through our study on Wisdom. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.” ‭‭James‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Please recognize that this mercy flows from an awesome response to God’s gift of grace. This weighs in on What we say and When we say. It even affects Who we say to. In John 2; there’s mention of the miracle that marked the beginning of Jesus’ public ministry. The question is – was Mary operating in Wisdom; for Jesus’ response was ‘my time has not yet come!’? Before making a judgement; we recognize that Jesus yielded to His mother’s request.

When we weigh what’s before us; we note – Mary saw a need. She knew what was required to solve that problem. And not just solve it; but solve it immediately. She didn’t know How it would be solved; but Mary knew Who would solve it. And she was right. Thus; when Jesus said it was early, Mary’s response was ‘just do what He said!’ For Mary already knew what God’s mercy did for her – Jesus was Living Proof.

Her compassion brought transformation for the newlyweds. We note that Mary didn’t rush to the parents; for they’d be too stressed. Likewise the couple. She didn’t go to the diplomat; that would have been embarrassing for everyone. Rather, she went to the servants for they were the ones who were serving. She gave a timely word and yielded to Jesus, Who in turn, yielded to her.

Did you notice that?

For us, we discern the times, and as we speak, we are grounded in God’s mercy that has kept us. Remembering What God’s done; we confidently apply that same grace to others. To whom do we need to speak? Where has God cautioned us to be silent? Wisdom is knowing what the difference is.

May all we seek be found in Christ
