Hello
Have you ever heard of the phrase, Open Sesame? It was reputed to be the magic phrase which assured access to the treasure hidden in a cave by some unscrupulous thieves. If you haven’t, take some time to read about it.
On the other hand, there are TWO (Yes 2) actions, which – we’ve been told – are guaranteed to secure our entry into God’s presence.
Today’s nougat tells us –
Enter into God’s gates with Thanksgiving, and into God’s courts with Praise. Be Thankful unto him, and Bless his name. Psalm 100.1
I think it’s more for us than for God. Thanksgiving shifts our focus on THE One who is able to keep us and sustain us; rather than ourselves. It moves us a but from the Who- ness of God (Adoration) to the Why- ness of God (Thanksgiving and Praise). We love God for who God is, and thank God for what God has done. They’re both connected, so our adoration is frequently interspersed with praise and Thanksgiving.
Do you have some special names attributes which you have given to God from your experiences with God? And what’s that recent, in the heat of the moment thing which God had done for which we forgot to say thanks?
Is this a good time to enter into God’s presence with presents?
Let’s let the praises ring!
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
