In the face of adversity, whose report do you believe? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
And Abram believed the Lord , and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith. Genesis 15:6 NLT
On the whole, Abram (aka Abraham) distinguished himself as one whose faith in God was exemplary. Sure, he stumbled spiritually from time to time; committed a few faux pas along the way. But Abram was a man of Faith.
It takes Faith (and guts) to receive God’s Promise of a child, moreover a son, when you are ninety and your wife is beyond child’s bearing age. It takes Faith to believe God for the healing, the financial breakthrough, the promotion, the job, the family situation, the fertility scenario … when logic, the world and the natural order of things would indicate that it’s time to throw in the towel.
But Abram had a history with God that included regular incidents of God’s supernatural provision and intervention. And, he was not operating on hearsay, God made him a direct Promise.
Based on our own personal one-to-One relationship with God, what is the Promise which we’re holding on to.
Let’s focus on that. Perhaps it will also be said of us that we’re counted as righteous because of our faith.
But remember, it begins with a committed relationship.
