Greetings my dears

Recently there has been lots of rain in the USA and the Caribbean region. In some places there have been flood watches and in others the ground is totally waterlogged. Remember the last flood in the Bible? Now that was some serious rain!

Speaking of rain, here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds,

Genesis 9:14 NLT

Those of us on this side of civilization who have faced a flood or two, have perhaps scoffed at the peoples of Noah’s time. But then, in our scoffing we’d have failed to factor in the absence of precedent.

The people had NEVER experienced rain before. So flooding was not anywhere in their frame of reference. Despite being protected from the harsher impact of the Great Flood, the time taken to gain release from the ark must have helped Noah and family grasp the enormity of the catastrophe surrounding them. With that, receiving the Rainbow Promise must have been a comfort to their troubled souls.

What about our own life experiences, haven’t many of us had our Noah moment? When we came face to face with a catastrophe which shattered the world as we knew it, even if we were not immediate and direct casualties. Perhaps we also need to see a rainbow in the sky, our assurance that no matter how overwhelming life gets; God’s got this. And because God’s got this, we know that it is well.

So hang in there you! Don’t despair. Turn the unexpected and unprecedented over to God. And when the clouds come (oh yes they will), may our hearts be at peace when we remember that the rainbow accompanies the clouds as a reminder that God will honor God’s promises to us.

Be blessed.

In Christ’s love & grace
