Going through an inexplicable rough patch?
Savour today’s Holy Nougat™
And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you. 1 Peter 5:10 ASV
Suffering unto perfection? Sounds like an oxymoron…or simply moronic. But, Peter’s epistle suggests exactly that. It certainly doesn’t sound like sweetness and light when we turn in our ‘secular cards’ for Christ-following.
And, I tell you this, there are days when I’m convinced I did not factor in the trials of faith, stress or suffering in saying “Yes” to Christ. Ironically, after the season ends, I scarcely recall what went. Because, honestly … I know that I’m one of God’s special favourites! (You also. But I’m a little more favourite) That’s where the “… perfect, establish, strengthen you” comes in.
The rough patches help to confirm our Faith, but Grace keeps us together.
If – and I know some folks who qualify – you’re undergoing a season of struggle right now, I speak grace and pray that you endure as you utilize your weaponry (Ephesians 6:10-18). I wish to remind you there’s a tomorrow, no matter how tonight it may seem.

Hear your children, hear us intercede, help us to be supportive in this season and may your peace be a tangible presence for them as they attempt to cope with the storms. May your anointing be their strength as your angels minister to them even now, we pray in Jesus’s name amen
