Today is World AIDS Day. One of the challenges some women faced in the past was absence of information. She could not get tested without her husband’s consent. In some instances, discovery came after it was too late.
Greetings friends
We continue to reflect on Advent, the season of waiting and preparation.
Here’s today’s nougat.
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1.41
I always marvel at this scene. As a child, I presumed that it was in this moment that John entered into Elizabeth’s body.
But no. This KAIROS moment reflects that very symbolic time when Mary receives confirmation from Elizabeth (and the unborn child) – under the influence of the Holy Spirit – that that which God had promised WILL come to pass.
Not all kairos moments are about births and divine confirmation. But, this one – this outstanding make or break moment – reminds us that God always provides a witness, sometimes in the unlikeliest of places, to assure us that we are not alone.
And so we prepare, and seek confirmation from the Spirit in our own situations; knowing that God is with us, even in the long stretch.
Hold strain, Massa God deh pon di case (Don’t despair, our God is in control).
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
