Nougat 1
Hi
I confess – I love me some Garnett Silk slow jams lover’s rock. And every time I connect with today’s Holy Nougat (actually this week’s nougat), I hear one of my favorites. With my great imagination, I even imagine God singing it to me –
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”
Romans 8:38 NLT
The joy of this reminder, in all its poetic glory; is its ability to address our deepest issues. And there at the centre – God’s love. Isn’t this an awesome way to start our reflections in the Looooooove 
So our first consideration is about our souls. And the assurance is that God’s love is with us even in the afterlife. No, I am not touching repentance beyond the grave by saying prayers for the dead or the old pre-Reformation practice of paying people’s lives out of purgatory; but I am reminded us of a promise
In the Gospel of John 14:2-3, Jesus assures us that His feat was a down payment for us to join Him full time. As one who works alongside spouses who live in separate households because of poor labor conditions for spouses (especially females), I am painfully aware that sometimes one has to keep the home fires 
Similarly, Christ’s death was an investment in Love for each of us. An exercise in trust that we won’t fall out of faith eating on that second (forever imminent return). An exercise in dedication to prepare the place so it is ‘just right’ for us – despite the design being a surprise for us. An investment in Love, for that was only possible with His death on the Cross! Wow
That’s deep love
How do we respond to love so profoundly beautiful?
By saying, ‘Yes! Yes Lord! Yes!!!’
Each of us has to respond on our own eh.
