Nougat 1

Hello my dears

Blessings to you and family. It is my prayer that you are well. And, if you are not, then I speak healing of body, mind and spirit in the mighty, matchless name of Jesus! Here’s today’s Holy Nougat

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians 4:6 NLT

Yesterday I read an article which indicated that worry/fear is one of the Top 8 sins ignored by Christians these days. Let me hasten to clarify – the writer was suggesting that we have normalized worry such that we no longer remember that it is a sin; not that we no longer worry and ignore it when it comes a-visiting. Unfortunately, she seems to be right on point! Ouch

For many, worry has become a crutch or pastime, something to do when the mind isn’t occupied. And the news we are bombarded with daily does NOTHING to help. Fear sells, as does worry and mistrust. So we are careful about everything – but for the wrong reasons, losing our joy in the process.

God’s Word offers us the antidote however. The Nougat today says

• Pray about EVERYTHING – before it escalates to worry, doubt or fear; we turn it over to Jesus. For sure, our attitude and prayer life will improve. And we will approach problems differently, especially if we seek God’s grace to deal with issues instead of praying they disappear.

• Tell God what we NEED – aahhhhh. I cannot speak for others, but there are times when I have entertained worry in the past that I had NO idea what I really needed. I WANTED the perceived threat to disappear; but sometimes I was comfortable with whining. What I NEEDED were tools to deal with the issue at hand, reinforcements to face the issue and perhaps a reminder that I had armor/weapons fine tuned to address whatever came my way! I probably also needed Wisdom on using my armory effectively. Most of all, I needed to eliminate the nagging doubt that tried to override my armor.

• I needed to be THANKFUL in advance. Technically, we already KNOW the outcome of the War. It’s the battles and skirmishes which seem questionable.

But God

Because when we think about it from an outcomes perspective, if the Allies have already Won the war, it is in our power to rally the troops without becoming a Prisoner of War (worry). And even if we get caught momentarily, remember – we have a Captain of the Hosts of Heaven who WILLspring us out of any Satanic POW camp the moment we Cry out to Him. So we’ve got reasons to be thankful.

Take it from a former “Serial Worrier”; there is more to life than worry and we live better when we worry less as we live in Christ.
