Imagine A World Without Words?

Can you imagine a world without words? I can’t. Whether thought, spoken, or written, words are critical to life. All that we communicate or think comes from words. If words are vital to life, how much more so the Living Word? Consider Today’s Holy Nougat.

John 1:1, 3-4 CEB

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

[3] Everything came into being through the Word, and without the Word, nothing came into being. What came into being

[4] through the Word was life, and the life was the light for all people.

Y’shua: Creating Word

For us to hold John’s statement as fact, demands that we see the creative power in the Word. This goes beyond just letters combined to create thought and sound; but to the embodiment of it all, that existed before creation alongside, or even within God. In speaking of the Word being in God at Creation, we also refer to the force that conveyed God’s will from image to reality. More than just imagination, but the Source itself. Before the very first, ‘Let there be’, Y’shua was.

Strong’s argues that logos, i.e., Word (as transliterated from Greek), speaks to principles of order and knowledge and is associated with divine wisdom and knowledge. To say then that the logos existed at the beginning means that it is divine wisdom that realizes creative power.

Self-Check

To what extent do we see Y’shua Jesus as the Logos? How do we tap into that creative power?

Application

This Logos, as described by John, is none other than Y’shua. Not only was He at Creation calling forth the unknown into being, but He is also in our current situations, calling forth God’s will over our lives. Could it be time for us to discern God’s creative will for our lives in this season?

There is also cause to in what our words and thoughts contain and convey because that creative power now resides in each of us. For, with Y’shua being the Source of all words, then that which we read, think, or say ought to be embodied in Christ. This invites us (me) to think about what words in allowing into my life. They might not be reflective of the Word that is my portion.

How might we have failed to allow the Word to be creative force in our varied situations? It is my prayer that we allow the Word to filter into our very being to offer to us words of life, so that God’s ‘let there be’ becomes reality.

Point to Ponder

Where do we need God’s ‘let there be’ at work in our lives today? Perhaps it’s time to allow Y’shua in … selah

May all we seek be found in Christ
