A Prayer Written in October

Published on

While undertaking my own personal devotions, I was reminded of a prayer I’d written in October. I believe that it is a good segue to yesterday’s reflections, and I thought I’d share it with you. But first, please receive Today’s Holy Nougat.

Isaiah 26:3-4 CEB

[3] Those with sound thoughts you will keep in peace, in peace because they trust in you.

[4] Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD is a rock for all ages.

Let’s Pray

So Lord, if we’re not experiencing Your Perfect Peace, then it is saying we’re not focused on You. Please, Lord, teach us how to focus on You, teach us how to transform our worries and fears into prayer.

Guard our hearts and minds from the evil one so that we don’t fall prey to temptation. Lord it’s so easy to get distracted, forgetting our Source, failing to live because we’re not focused on You, especially when it’s a personal problem or something overwhelming.

Of course, Lord, we recognize that sometimes the disquiet and disturbance in our souls is from You. It could be a warning to get out of a situation, that something or someone isn’t genuine, or even an invitation for us to pay attention. But even then, it’s a call to be focused. We will know when all is well when we feel Your Perfect Peace.

So Lord, we look to You. Speak to us, hear us, and have mercy. This is our prayer Y’shua, amen.

May all we seek be found in Christ
