Blessings one and all
Today is Mothers’ Day in North America and the Caribbean. Permit me please to celebrate all mothers; beginning with my mother. Blessings and hugs and loads of love! Thanks for everything you do
On that note, here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“And it came to pass, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit; and she lifted up her voice with a loud cry, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.”
Luke 1:41-42 ASV
She may not have had a child for herself, but she recognized the blessings which accompanies motherhood, especially the Chrst-child.
As the one selected to birth the Messiah, Mary was exceptionally blessed; yet it is worth remembering the miracle of childbearing. To date, that is the woman’s purview.
But birthing a child cannot be the final qualifier for motherhood, as so many women have selflessly contributed to the nurturing and welfare of other persons’ children; with no expectations of reward beyond the love. We pause to honor those ‘mothers’ also – grannies, aunts, siblings, extended family, baby sitters, foster parents and countless others.
Mothers all, please remember that you are blessed, as is the fruit of your womb/heart. We celebrate you today and speak wisdom, favour and all the blessings God has in store for you today and beyond!
Shalom and Salam
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
