Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
When you gather the grapes in your vineyard, don’t glean the vines after they are picked. Leave the remaining grapes for the foreigners, orphans, and widows. Deuteronomy 24:21 NLT
How do we live this reality today, in the face of insularism, xenophobia and self- absorption? An adequate response begins with the recognition that grapes symbolised the wealth which awaited the Israelites in Canaan. What is interesting is the recognition that there would be persons who could not fend for themselves.
Who are those persons in our communities today? And do we see ourselves as being divinely relocated in a position of enough so that we might share our wealth?
Have we been convicted that we have wealth to be shared with others? Could it be that we are needing to discern where our wealth lies, so that we might share from our position of abundance?
May God’s grace guide us in our season of discernment …
