Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!
What a hope-filled greeting! Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.” Romans 6:8 NLT
And that’s why we have hope. Believing Christ’s promises, we forfeit the easiness of the world and it’s allures. And for some of us that belief may have been formalized by immersion baptism. There we may have heard that as we were immersed, we died to self; and in emerging, we rose to life with Christ. If that was your experience, this is the scripture that grounds the saying. If that is not the experience, the practice of remembering our baptism has been one way of moving us to receiving this assurance.
The joy is, risenness with Christ is an eternal promise. For it reminds us that Christ SHALL return, to take us to His full time residence. Awesomeness
But we also have the assurance that God is with us always. In the here and now. We were promised that God’s Comforter is with us – less than a tap away. And if Jesus fulfilled the resurrection promise, the promise of God’s Spirit is assures. And with that promise, our own resurrection with Christ has a lifetime warranty!
Now, if we have the assurance that upon confession-baptism/confirmation, we are indeed assured of being risen with Christ, then we ought to live victoriously, knowing that death and death-serving forces cannot, will not and must not have the last word. God does.
And by the power of Christ’s resurrection promise; we do!
