Hello
Happy Valentines Day! I love you
I have been thinking very much about love these past weeks for we just launched ‘Love heals, not hurts’ campaign. To my surprise, without any intentionality on my part, today’s Holy Nougat landed my way yesterday.
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.” John 13:34 NLT
Isn’t it ironic that Love is a commandment, rather than an option? It’s also a Fruit and a byproduct of a Gift of God’s Spirit. Hmmm.
How do we love each other as Christ did? Teaching, sharing, prioritizing the other, making time, offering encouragement, praying with and for, as well as being sensitive to the other’s thoughts and needs are some of Christ’s human traits that come readily to mind.
Those don’t include the miraculous, so they should be easily emulated, right. Given time, I am confident that we’ll get better and better. And the joy is … there’s so many people to practice on.
Obviously it’s not quite as easy as it sounds. Yet, we’re mandated to embrace love – in action. To teach, share with, prioritize, make time for, encourage, pray with/for and be sensitive to the needs of the other. Mandated.
Aa we give thanks yet again for such Awesome Love, let’s aim at honoring Love Incarnate by becoming the Lovers we’re commanded and anointed to be.
Have a blessed lovely valentines weekend
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
