If Jesus, who was fully Divine, thought it necessary to be obedient to God’s will, then so should we. Having constant communication with God and access to what truly pleases God certainly qualifies Jesus to discerning God’s desires for our lives. In several instances, God’s plan and purpose can be easily proven to be in our immediate best interest.
So –
Having been clearly told to avoid credit cards, she obeyed. Except that she needed to get rid of the card. There was an emergency. Then another. Then another (perhaps one or two didn’t qualify as an emergency). Then her card was compromised and just like that, the card was no more. If only she had obeyed …
God’s voice was distinct – reverse and await further instructions. But it seemed more practical to wait. Having waited, someone got caught in the blind spot. The damage was minimal; the cost was prohibitive! If only God’s will was made priority …
Give $x to such person. $X was given. It was exactly the amount needed to clear the bill. The person gave glory to God. Redemption entered that house through one’s obedience. What joy to be aligned to God’s will …
Today, if you hear God’s voice, remember that we are called to carry out what God requires.
